ShipServ increases quoting speed with WebSupplier Release 3.0
From Wednesday 22 May 2002, WebSupplier is upgraded to Release 3.0. The improvements will particularly benefit suppliers handling quotes with many line-items. Release 3.0 incorporates a new user interface based on Java technology and optimised for faster page loading and rapid quote input.
This release also demonstrates the power of hosted applications as all WebSupplier users immediately benefit from the improvements – an instant upgrade. There is no need to load any software onto the user’s computer: it is there next time he uses the application in his Internet browser.
Key Features
The key features of Release 3.0 are as follows:
New Create Quote Screen
The line-item input on the Create Quote screen now has the following features:
* Enhanced cursor control – the best example is the use of up and down arrow keys to move between the price fields of adjacent line-items.
* Add multiple lines – the “Add line” button allows a number of lines to be specified so they are all added with one action.
* Hide unused fields – so the screen is easier to read. If you wish to use/display the hidden fields, change the selected view using the “Select view” choices at the bottom of the screen
In addition, the Create Quote screen has been generally optimised to provide the fastest possible response times, even via relatively slow internet connections.
Fastpath from Inbox to Create Quote
The Incoming RFQ inbox has a new “Create Quote” button for each RFQ. This allows you to miss out the step of reading the RFQ since all the details can be read directly from the Quote screen at the same time the Quote is being prepared.
